The Cobra Vodafone Automotive Protect and Connect 5 meets the top standard for stolen vehicle tracking systems, holding the prestigious Category 5 Thatcham approval.

If your insurance provider has recommended a CAT 5 tracker, this is the one they’re referring to. The price covers the CAT 5 car tracker and installation by a Thatcham-approved engineer. To ensure your tracker is ready to protect your vehicle immediately, select your first-year subscription from the dropdown above. Same-day installation is available based on availability, and most installations are completed within 72 hours.

ADR (Automatic Driver Recognition)

  • Carry this discreet, pocket-sized card with you when you’re in your vehicle. The system will automatically arm itself when you leave the vehicle.
  • If your vehicle is moved without the driver card present, Vodafone Automotive’s Secure Operating Centre is immediately alerted. This means that even if a thief uses your keys to steal your vehicle, the theft will be detected and action will be taken right away.
  • The system comes with two unique driver cards.
  • It automatically arms itself 70 seconds after the ignition is turned off and the driver card is out of range (about 3 meters).
  • When the driver card comes back into range, the system will disarm automatically.
  • If the vehicle is driven without detecting the driver card, a silent alert is sent to Vodafone Automotive’s 24-hour Secure Operating Centre. They will then contact you to confirm if the vehicle has been stolen.
  • For additional security, if the driver card is not present, the system will alert you if the vehicle is lifted or towed without the keys. It will also trigger an alert if the vehicle battery is disconnected or discharged.
 

Remote Engine Immobilisation

Allows the police to authorize Vodafone Automotive to send a signal to your vehicle, preventing the engine from being restarted once it has stopped. This feature greatly enhances the likelihood of recovering your vehicle in good condition.
 

So what next?

  1. Purchase your CAT 5 tracker online or contact us. You can also opt to pay for your subscription during this process. After your purchase, a member of our fitting team will contact you to arrange a fitting at a time and place that suits you best.
  2. Our mobile engineer will come to your location at the scheduled time to install and activate your tracker. 
  3. Once the installation is complete, the Vodafone team will send you a completion certificate for you to provide to your insurance company.
  4. That’s it! You’re now fully protected against theft and ready to enjoy your vehicle!
 

Annual tracking subscription for the second year onwards is payable directly to Vodafone. They will contact you before renewal.

Please also note that CAT 5 trackers are soon going to be re-categorised by Thatcham as S5 insurance approved trackers. If your insurance company makes reference to an S5 grade tracker, they are still referring to the CAT 5 model. Any CAT 5 Tracker installed before this renaming is still valid and your service will continue as normal.
